We're Moooving
After months of waiting & hoping, DIYing, tidying & cleaning, opening up our home to visits, we have finally sold our house and now just have a few days to go until we move into our interim flat. Our longer-term flat (just up the hill from the beach, yippee!) isn't available until September, so for a couple of months over the summer we have rented a holiday let which is also near the sea. Just a few minutes away from the top of the cliffs. It won't be much of a hardship to live there!
However before that happens, there now needs to be more tidying and packing (my least favoured task) and streamlining. This morning I did a ruthless audit of my clothes, bearing in mind the adage that you tend to only use / wear 20% of your possessions. This is certainly true for me, I had a huge number of t-shirts I never wear (some over 15 years old). It was time to bag them up for charity. I also threw away haf a drawer full of socks that had more holes than material. What is the matter with me? Why do I keep such junk. Sorting through my books comes next. More stuff for charity will follow no doubt. It's good to streamline your life every now and then - you find things you've forgotten about and it's a chance to give things to others who can make use of them.
So, there isn't likely to be much blogging over the next week or so. I'm not sure what the internet access will be like in the holiday let. Time for tea I think. xx

I love Blue Rodeo!
Blue Rodeo was our favourite group to play in the car (especially this song) when we visited British Columbia a couple of years ago. Every time I hear it, I think about Squamish and Vancouver and just want to go back there. Canada you are wonderful to me and thank you Blue Rodeo for your wonderful music x

Cornish Cows
The Swiss Cows are feeling restless. They feel that summer is slipping past and they haven't been down to Cornwall yet. They texted me the above picture this morning as a not so subtle hint of the things they feel they are missing out on. "We want to eat Cornish grass by a Cornish coastline" they mood crossly.
I think it's just the heat making them tetchy.

The Summer Book
"They picked out stones that hadn't been worn completely round and threw then out into the water to make them rounder. The sun moved on across the sky, and the boat came around the point and took up the nets and dropped them right back in again." (Tove Jansson, p.62)
The perfect summer holiday book. The adventures of Sophie and her grandmother on a small island in Finland is beautifully written and funny too. The Swiss Cows are packing their suitcases and looking for last minute cheap flights to Scandinavia.

Happy Camping!
The Swiss cows decided that this week-end they would cut loose from the city, grab their camper van and look for some campfire pow-wow opportunities with their buddies in a secluded location:
Thanks to the Curiosity Group for this amazing little camping set up (there's actually a calendar for the month of July on the other side of the van) and special thanks to Dr X for taking the time to do all the fiddly folding, cutting and gluing tasks to put this together. We both know that I suck at those kind of activities.
Happy Week-End everyone! Xxxx
